The group exhibition "New Forms of Portraits" brings together the artists Shannon Bono, Phoebe Boswell, Mary Ramsden and Zanele Muholi. Their works have in common that they focus their protagonists on the essence of the person and allow access to a very personal world.
Shannon Bono and Zanele Muholi focus on their own person. In their portraits they surround themselves with fabrics and objects that are socially and culturally charged.
Phoebe Boswell gives the viewer a glimpse of her mother that lovingly captures all of her strength in multiple, overlapping positions at once.
Mary Ramsden condenses the complexity of her various friends into abstract icons that develop incredible intensity in their small format.
