The exhibition by David Renggli (*1974) focuses on personal expectations and desires as well as their linguistic communication. Dazzling neon signs grouped into an overall installation, cryptic paintings and a train constantly rolling in circles: Renggli's new works question the shaping and influencing of hopes and desires.
It whirs and rolls: small, colourfully labelled goods wagons make their way through the spacious upper floor of the Kunst(Zeug)Haus. David Renggli's installation, created especially for the museum, challenges visitors to decipher the lettering on the wagons. Word games and short, concise poetry take you into the world of language and dreams. In another area of the room, the Zurich artist shows paintings and illuminated signs. It flickers like a funfair that promises everything. The artist invites visitors to ponder personal wishes and their backgrounds and origins.
