We are excited to announce the opening of WENTRUP VENEZIA, our new gallery branch in Venice.
The gallery is located in the Cannaregio district, near Ospedale, and will be housed in historic premises that were formerly the studio of Italian fashion designer Giuliana Camerino (1920-2010). Camerino was the founder of the famous fashion house Roberta di Camerino, which played a pioneering role in the Italian fashion industry starting from the 1950s. Her exceptional work was recognized with an exhibition at the Whitney Museum in New York in 1980.
In addition to regular exhibitions, WENTRUP Venezia will offer artists the opportunity to work on-site as part of a residency program.
"As almost no other city, past and present are as visible in art as they are in Venice. We are thrilled to expand our connections to the Biennale, private museums, and public institutions through a gallery presence. The gallery sees itself as a public space for exhibitions and discourse, catering to the city's residents and international visitors."
