Overview

Marion Verboom (b. 1983, lives and works in Paris, France) studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris. Verboom is a sculptor whose thought-provoking oeuvre challenges traditional notions of sculpture and materiality while evoking a sense of ambiguity and wonder. Her works explore the intersections of history, architecture, and cultural identity, often incorporating unexpected materials and techniques resulting in pieces that blur the boundaries between the physical and the conceptual.

Marion Verboom has had numerous solo exhibitions at international institutions, including; Max Ernst Museum, Brühl; La Verrière. Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, Brussels; Le Carré Centre d'art contemporain, Château-Gontier; La Vitrine, FRAC Ile-de-France, Paris and MASC, Museum of the Abbaye de Sainte-Croix, Les Sables. She has also participated in group exhibitions at various museums, including; Ömer Koç Collection, Istanbul; Abdülmecid Efendi Mansion, Istanbul; MassArt Museum, Boston; MO.CO. Panacée, Montpellier; MAC VAL, Vitry-sur-Seine; Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon; Fondation Cartier, Paris and Kunstmuseum Gelsenkirchen. Notable projects include the installation in the “Toguna” space at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris in 2018; a collaboration with Maison Chloé in 2017–2018 and receiving the LVMH Métiers d’Art grant and residency in 2018.
