Overview

Britta Thie is an interdisciplinary artist exploring the complex terrain of

contemporary visual culture. Her acclaimed video and multimedia works

examine the creation and consumption of highly stylized imagery. Conversely, her photo-realistic paintings contemplate the critical yet often unseen internal structure of moving image production in popular entertainment.

 

Britta Thie was born in 1987 in Minden. She studied at Kunstakademie Münster, the Cooper Union of Science and Art New York and graduated from the Universität der Künste Berlin. She lives and works in Berlin.
