Whilst her paintings are abstract, Brosinski’s sculptures are becoming more figurative. To have a counter to her painterly process, the artist started to work with the material clay. Naturally, without thinking the material is giving her the direction and demanding a different approach. The clay works like sketches for her – it’s about speed, lack of premeditation and kind of self-surprise what comes out of the material at the material. Those ceramic sketches Brosinski is transferring into other materials to create her bigger sculptures – it’s about the translation from one media into another and if something works or not.
