Desire Moheb-Zandi partnered with fashion brand Veronica Beard for their new’ Trailblazers’ collection and installed an interactive public loom piece for their launch party.
The installation came from the idea of weaving together and the power of collective making. The communal loom was installed over the period of a few days in New York City’s High Line, the iconic green passage floating above Manhattan, like a thread running through the city. On the High Line, everyone can connect with nature and Moheb-Zandi intended for her temporary installation to create another opportunity for pause within the noise of the metropolis.
Guests gathered around the loom, weaving and having conversations. After the event, the loom stayed on the High Line and the piece continued to change overtime, until three days later, when there was no space left to weave. The loom is now being installed in Veronica Beard’s SoHo store window to celebrate the ‘Trailblazers’ collection.
