To mark the first anniversary since Montblanc Haus opened its doors to the public in May 2022, Montblanc is inviting visitors to experience a new temporary exhibition curated throughout the space at its Hamburg headquarters that highlights the influence of handwriting in the field of visual arts. The artists showcased in the exhibition are connected through salondergegenwart, a non-profit Hamburg organization that supports newcomers to the German art world by exhibiting them alongside well-established international artists. The organization’s group exhibitions focus on a yearly testimonial on the current state of the art. The exhibition at Montblanc Haus opened to the public on 8th May 2023.
“Montblanc Haus was created not just as the home of handwriting but as an ever-changing place of discovery and inspiration for both local communities and visitors from around the world. With this new exhibition, we hope to deliver on our mission with a collection of art pieces inspired by handwriting, opening ways to provoke new ideas and emotions, and giving fresh perspectives on the role the written word plays in our culture,” says Nicolas Baretzki, Montblanc CEO.
The art pieces have been seamlessly integrated into the visitor journey at Montblanc Haus, from the outdoor area to the dome, and the 1st floor hallway to the temporary exhibition space. Artists featured include Jorinde Voigt, Olaf Heine, Timo Nasseri, Claus Georg Stabe, Lukas Glinkowski, Kazunori Kura, Bianca Patricia Isensee, Lilia Kovka, Matthias Bitzer, Arthur Löwen, David Renggli, Jack Sommerville and Helen Feifel.
Montblanc Haus first opened to the public in May 2022 as a destination to inspire writing, a space that celebrates the power and value of handwriting. A unique combination of a Montblanc brand experience and a journey of discovery through the past, present and future of writing to underscore the importance of writing for humanity. The physical experience brings to life Montblanc’s belief in the value of writing, core to what the company stands for, and the role it plays in helping people express their full potential and ultimately leave their mark. In addition to the Inspire Writing permanent exhibition, Montblanc Haus welcomes visitors to enjoy temporary exhibits.
