Overview
With his site-specific painting, Jan-Ole Schiemann has temporarily transformed Wolfsburg's Central Station. For this installation, the artist explored the daily significance of a train station; it is a place where people wait for an upcoming train ride or anticipate the arrival of others. Sometimes, however, a disruption or an incident might also be the reason for the wait. The ambivalent feelings are captured by the interplay of forms, mirroring the positive image on one wall as a 'photo negative' on the opposite wall. Schiemann’s installation invites commuters and passersby to discover new visual elements in his work time and again.
