Gregor Hildebrandt | Restaurant Gustav: Kunsthalle Bonn

Kunsthalle Bonn's restaurant GUSTAV pays homage to Gustav Peichl (1928–2019), the architect of the Bundeskunsthalle. The original restaurant, designed by Gustav Peichl and opened in 1992, was modeled after a Viennese coffeehouse. During the redesign, the space was restored to this original state but individual elements were integrated through the incorporation of artworks created and adapted specifically for the space by Berlin-based artists Alicja Kwade and Gregor Hildebrandt. Gregor Hildebrandt’s sculpture Oswald on the restaurant terrace further connects the interior with the outdoor area of the Museumplatz.
